Graham Knewstub was no stranger to the strange and unexplained. As the founder of Britain’s first UFO organization, the Bristol Flying Saucer Bureau, he had spent decades investigating sightings and collecting stories of mysterious objects in the sky. But in September 1970, Graham found himself on the other side of the story when he encountered something that would change his life.
It was a clear evening, and Graham had been out for a walk when he noticed a strange light in the sky. Unlike anything he had seen before, the object hovered silently, glowing with an otherworldly brightness. Graham, always prepared for such moments, quickly set up his camera and began capturing what would become one of the most famous UFO photographs in Britain.
The photograph, published in the Illustrated London News, showed a classic flying saucer shape, hovering above the treetops. Graham's encounter and the subsequent photo would go on to inspire countless others to share their own experiences, contributing to the growing interest in UFO phenomena in the 1970s.
Over the years, Graham continued his work, becoming a respected figure in the UFO community. His experience in September 1970 remained one of his most memorable, a reminder that sometimes, the truth really is out there, just waiting to be discovered.
