Unidentified Light in the Sky Taped – October 1996

In October 1996, a Scots grandmother named Margaret Ross from Falkirk became the unlikely star of a UFO investigation. Her remarkable footage, captured on video during the early hours of September 27th, would soon become a point of intense scrutiny and debate.

Margaret had woken early that morning and glanced out of her bedroom window, only to be greeted by a strange sight—a pulsating, bright object hovering in the cloudless sky. It was bigger and brighter than any star, remaining stationary for about 15 minutes before transforming into a half-moon shape with four diagonal bars of high-intensity brightness. Margaret grabbed her video camera and began recording, capturing the object on tape for nearly 40 minutes before it disappeared.

The footage, later shown to experts, was described as "one of the best" pieces of evidence for a UFO sighting. Margaret's daughter, Alexis, who lived two miles away, also saw the strange light and confirmed her mother's account. "It was awesome," she told the Dundee Courier. "I got my husband, George, and my two children out of bed, and they saw it too."

Top UFO researcher Ron Halliday of Stirling University reviewed the tape and was impressed by what he saw. "It's one of the best footages I have seen from anywhere in the world," he said. "Such a length of footage is very unusual. Film of alleged phenomena is very rare and usually lasts for a few fleeting seconds at most."

Despite the excitement surrounding the footage, skeptics remained unconvinced, suggesting that the light might have a more mundane explanation. However, the video evidence, coupled with the eyewitness accounts, left many believing that something extraordinary had occurred in the skies over Falkirk that autumn morning.
